#ThoughtofThanks: New scenery in Somerset

A change of scenery is good for the soul. Sometimes you just need to get away.
This weekend we (somewhat) spontaneously decided to head to Somerset, Tyler’s hometown, for a quiet weekend with his parents. A quiet, lazy, restful weekend with family was exactly what we needed to fill our hearts & refresh our spirits.

First stop, Baxter’s! This local coffee franchise is seriously unreal. I am a black decaf drinker so without sugar/cream to mask the flavor, the taste of the actual coffee matters to me. Baxter’s is the BEST. Can you say creme brûlée flavored decaf?!

The first half of the weekend we spent with just my mother-in-law, Shelly. It’s rare & special to have so much one on one time with her! I love that!

My father-in-law was busy in Indianapolis, KILLIN the marathon! Seriously though, he qualified for the Boston Marathon with his time… he’s a dedicated, talented runner & his speed blows me away.

We actually made it to church on Sunday! Thank you Lord for that extra hour of sleep & a weekend full of rest. I love going to Grace Baptist when we are home. The church members are incredibly friendly, thoughtful & welcoming. The many hugs, smiles, & waves make us feel missed since we live 2 hours away.

KY in the Fall = gorgeous!

In my book there is nothing better than quality time with the ones you love. We have to do things that keep our hearts happy & our emotional health flourishing. The way I feel emotionally/spiritually completely effects how I feel physically.

Today, I encourage all of you to be intentional with your time. Use it to be productive but also to do things that put a smile on your face. Life is too short to live with a frown!

What are you thankful for today? Share with me on Instagram/Facebook using the tags #ThoughtofThanks #StillWatersBlog 💕

Wishing you a week of joy,
Mal
