#ThoughtofThanks

All the kids !

This week’s #thoughtofthanks is dedicated to all of these priceless friends of mine. My weekend was spent in the best way– relaxing with some of the people I love the most. On Saturday, Steven and Kate, some of our best friends came down for an afternoon/evening of catching up, baking cookies, movie-watching and fellowship. Tyler had the honor of standing by Steven as his best man at their July 2015 wedding. Steven will do the same for Tyler, as one of his best men in April.

The four of us spent nearly every weekend together during our shared years of college. These two play such a special, important role in our lives… I can’t wait to be married friends! Lucky for us we live less than 2 hours apart.

“Sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” Proverbs 27:9

Sunday included church (yes I made it!) and lunch at home with everyone around the table. My oldest brother Phil and his new bride Jamie, my middle brother Cameron, then Tyler, Uncle Vince, Mom, Dad and I gathered around the wood table meant for 6, pulling up extra chairs to make everyone fit. What a blessing it is to have a growing family! What a blessing to have so many loved ones that our original table cannot even hold us all! And what a blessing it is to choose siblings as best friends.
What are you grateful for today?

  1. I recently returned from a trip to Barbados. I’m thankful that I was safe and healthy while there…I’m thankful my wife and kids were healthy and safe while I was there…I’m thankful for clean water, ice, climate controlled rooms, the U.S. military(past & present) who made us and keep us free…I’m thankful for the family from FCC who made the trip possible…and I’m thankful for a God who knows my failures and still chooses to love me and use me for His work.

  2. I love to read your blog! Your journey is an inspiration. I worked with your Mom at Heartland several years ago. I know that you have amazing support!
I also attended WKU. I was a Sigma Kappa. My roommates were ADII’s as well. 🙂 Just wanted to say hi and let you know that I am praying for you!
    God Bless!
